Fudan University has jumped to 70 from 109 last year in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 released on September 2.
Fudan also was ranked third place among Chinese Mainland universities.
The result is a historic breakthrough for Fudan.
The rankings this year include more than 1,500 universities across 93 countries and regions, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.
They are based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Over the past five years, Fudan University has vigorously enhanced its advantages and made important progress in first-class talent cultivation, academic achievements and social contribution.
It highly values the importance of global cooperation. Fudan has developed partnerships with nearly 300 universities and institutions all over the world and established new cooperative platforms and research centers to foster its own all-round development.
